You want to be the business ChatGPT names.
Right now I’d bet you’re not. Someone in your city asks an assistant who to call, gets two or three names back, and none of them are yours. You’d never find out. Nobody sends you a report about the search that left you out.
So I go and look. I run the questions your customers actually ask, write down what comes back, and tell you why you’re missing and what it costs to change. That’s the whole business.

Why you’re missing
It’s usually not your website
This is the part that surprises people. Assistants don’t rank pages the way Google does. They answer out of whatever they have picked up about you over time, and most of that came from somewhere you don’t control.
Other people’s pages decide it
Somebody went through more than a million AI citations and found 52.5% pointed at sources the business doesn’t own. Reddit was the most cited domain in the whole set. If nothing outside your own website mentions you, there’s very little for an assistant to repeat. You can have a genuinely good site and still be invisible. I know how unfair that reads.
Your own details contradict each other
Google Business Profile says Suite 200. Yelp still has Suite 140 from two moves ago. Apple Maps has the phone number you stopped using in 2021. When the facts don’t line up, recommending you is a risk, so the assistant recommends someone whose facts do. This is the dull cause. It’s also usually the fastest to fix.
Your site might be locked and nobody told you
Around 73% of sites block at least one AI crawler somewhere. Almost never on purpose. It sits in robots.txt, or a firewall rule, or a bot filter that arrived switched on with a plugin somebody installed years ago. A page a crawler can’t open is worth nothing to you, however good it is.
None of this is cause for panic. It does mean guessing about it is a waste of your afternoon.

See what an assistant has on you, right now
Three fields, about twenty seconds. I put the question to a model and show you what comes back in its own words. Nothing you type gets kept.
Ask a model about your business
You get back four things in the assistant’s own words: what it has on you, where that would have come from, who it names instead, and why.
Sample only · a made-up dentist, not your business

What I do
Two audits, fixed price
Both come back as a written document: what I found, what’s causing it, and every fix priced. You can hand it to your own developer and never speak to me again. That’s fine. That’s what it’s for.
AI Visibility Audit
$900Five business days
- Fifty questions your customers would really type, each one run across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Google AI Overviews, with screenshots
- How often you turned up, not where you “ranked”. Ranking numbers here are invented and I’m not going to hand you one
- The competitors who show up when you don’t, and the outside pages being quoted to recommend them
- Your listings side by side across Google Business Profile, Apple Maps, Bing Places, Yelp and Facebook, with every mismatch marked
- Your structured data run through the validator, output attached so you can see it yourself
- A real request sent to your site as each AI crawler, and the status code that came back
- Every fix listed and priced in the order I’d do them, yours to keep whoever ends up doing the work
Accessibility Audit
$1,500Seven business days · written mainly for healthcare and patient-facing sites
- Hand testing against WCAG 2.2 AA on your main templates, not a scanner report with my logo on the front of it
- Every intake path start to finish: appointment requests, contact forms, portal logins
- Each problem tied to the specific success criterion, with how serious it is, so your developer fixes rather than guesses
- Fix work quoted at $160 an hour in the same document
- A retest and conformance summary later if you want one, $400
This is a technical conformance assessment. It is not legal advice.
Book the accessibility auditWhy me and not an agency
You could get this from an agency. Here’s why you might not want to.
I’ll be straight about it, because I have sat on the agency side of this table for years. Most agencies can produce something called an AI visibility audit. The question is what it’s for.
The audit isn’t a sales tool
At an agency the audit exists to sell the retainer. It’s cheap or free, it finds problems, and the fix is always the same monthly package. Mine is the product. It’s priced like one, it’s finished when it’s finished, and about half the time the right next step is handing it to whoever already looks after your website.
You get the runs, not a score
A lot of what’s sold as AI visibility right now is a dashboard with a number on it. A score out of 100 from a tool nobody can quite explain. I give you the actual fifty questions, the actual answers with screenshots, the date, and how often you came up. You can check my work. You can’t check a score.
I’ll tell you when you don’t need me
If your answer comes back mostly fine, I say so and you keep the report as proof you looked. An agency has a retainer to fill every month. I don’t, so I have no reason to find problems that aren’t there.
One person does it, and you know who
You’re not getting a junior handed a template. I run every question, I write the document, I’m on the call. If something in it is wrong, you know exactly who to argue with.
If your agency will do it this way, fixed price, every run logged, and tell you when the news is good, hire them. Most won’t, because it doesn’t pay them to.

FAQ
Questions I get
Am I in ChatGPT right now?
Probably not by name, and you won’t know until somebody checks. Assistants tend to name businesses they have seen discussed in more than one place: directories, review sites, forums, local news. A business with a good website and no outside mentions is usually invisible to them. Run the check above and you will have a first answer in twenty seconds.
What is AEO, and do I need to care?
AEO stands for answer engine optimization. It is the work of getting your business named inside an AI-generated answer instead of ranking in a list of links. In practice it comes down to three things: making the facts about you agree everywhere they appear, writing pages that answer questions directly enough to be quoted, and making sure the crawlers can actually get in. You will also see it called GEO. Same work, different acronym, and I don’t much mind which one you use.
Whether you need to care depends on whether your customers have started asking assistants instead of searching. More of them do every quarter, and the ones who do tend to stop at the first two names they hear.
Isn’t this just SEO?
No, though they overlap. SEO is about getting a page to rank. This is about getting your name into a sentence. Google rewards your own website. Assistants lean on everybody else’s, with more than half of citations coming from third-party sources. That is why a business can sit at the top of Google and go missing the moment somebody asks a chatbot the same question.
Why won’t you give me a ranking number?
Because it would be made up. In one study, 2,961 identical prompts went to three engines, and the chance of two answers coming back with the same list of businesses was under 1 in 100. Same list in the same order, roughly 1 in 1,000. Anyone selling you a position number for AI search invented it somewhere along the way. What I give you instead is how often you appeared, out of how many runs, on what date, under what conditions.
Can you get me into ChatGPT?
No, and I would be careful with anyone who says they can. There is no ranking table to buy into and no switch to flip. What I can do is tell you where you stand today, which of the fixable causes apply to you, and what each one costs. If your answer comes back mostly fine, I will say so, and you will have spent $900 finding out you didn’t need me. That does happen.
How long until something changes?
Crawler and listing fixes can move things in a few weeks, because you are clearing a blockage rather than building a reputation. Getting named where you are currently absent takes longer, usually three to six months, because it depends on mentions piling up in places you don’t own. If somebody tells you next week, ask them what they are actually selling.
You’re new at this. Why should I trust it?
Fair question. The business is new. The work isn’t. I have spent years running client services at a web agency, which mostly means taking something technical and turning it into a decision an owner can actually make without a developer sitting next to them.
Ask me for the sample report before you pay anything. It is a full audit on a real business, and it will tell you more about whether I am any good than a testimonial would.
For agencies
White label, under your name
Your clients have started asking about AI search and you probably have nobody to hand it to. Both audits are available white label, $650 and $1,100, delivered in your template with your logo on it. Resell at whatever you like. I never contact your client.
Send me one client site and I will run the visibility check and send you a one-page version free, so you can judge the quality before you put your name on it.
I do the audits myself, start to finish. There’s no account manager to get passed along to, because there’s nobody else here. My background is client services at a web agency, which is really the same job as this one: take something technical and turn it into a decision somebody can act on.
When I hand the document over you get half an hour of my time on a call, and I’d much rather you argue with it than nod at it.
